Here’s a band with a unique edge, rooted deep in the blues, the bones of today's music. But Beautiful Bones comes at you with a sound blending of diverse forces such as Robert Johnson, Led Zeppelin, Bill Withers, the Seattle grunge of Soundgarden, and the modern soul of John Mayer.
The band is the vision of DM Miller, a Buffalo-based singer/songwriter who’s been playing in area coffeehouses and bands for the last 12 years. Most of Beautiful Bones’ original music is written by DM, fusing several genres of blues, along with tonal and rhythmic ideas from other rock ‘n soul traditions.
The blues is the beautiful framework on which modern music hangs and Beautiful Bones brings you the depth and breadth of that beauty, making connections to today's sounds while preserving the familiar structure of the past.
Beautiful Bones has been building a loyal fan base with its fresh twist on the blues tradition. Featured with such greats as Joe Bonamassa and David Allan Coe, Beautiful Bones puts its stamp on familiar blues standards while making their own mark with soulful originals.
Showing their range of influences from B.B. King to ZZ Top, the core Bones are DM Miller, Nick Peterson, and Josh Miller. Jimmy Ehinger, and Michael DiSanto accompany the core, blending their distinct influences. Jimmy, an accomplished keyboardist, is a Buffalo Music Hall of Fame'r with a list of playing credits such as Bonnie Raitt, Taj Mahal, Bob Dylan and many more. DiSanto, a well known Buffalo talent with an unmistakable soulful style, can be seen playing his sweet guitar with Nikki Hicks and Unit 9. Beautiful Bones can be found playing regularly at such great local venues as Double D's Queen City Grille, The Lafayette Tap Room, Brennan's, The Filling Station Saloon and many others.
